What the interviewer probes in a software engineer interview
Engineering interviews punish vagueness. The AI interviewer reads your resume and asks about the specific system you built — why that database, what broke, what you would change — and scores whether your answer names a decision, a trade-off and an outcome. Generic "we used microservices" answers score low on content, exactly as they would with a senior engineer across the table.
