Resignation Letter With 15 Days Notice

A 15-day notice is common during probation, in contract roles and in smaller companies. The letter is the same shape as a 30-day one; only the date sentence changes.

Because the window is short, put the handover plan in the letter itself — it reassures a manager who has two weeks to find cover.

Subject: Resignation — Neha Gupta, Customer Support Associate

[Date]

Dear Ms. Rao,

I am writing to resign from my position as Customer Support Associate at Zenith Retail. In line with the 15-day notice period applicable during probation, my last working day will be Thursday, 1 October 2026.

I have decided to move to a role closer to home, and I wanted to let you know as early as possible so the roster can be adjusted. I will complete the open tickets assigned to me and share a summary of recurring customer issues with the team lead before I leave.

During the notice period I will ensure a complete handover of my responsibilities and will document all ongoing work. Please let me know how you would like the transition planned, and kindly confirm my last working day and the relieving formalities in writing.

Thank you for the support during my tenure. I wish the company and the team continued success.

Sincerely,
Neha Gupta
Customer Support Associate

Names, companies and dates are illustrative. Replace the bracketed date with the day you send it.

What to get right

  • State that 15 days is the applicable notice (probation, contract) so nobody assumes you are short-serving a 30-day term.
  • Name the two or three things you will finish; a short notice with a clear list reads as responsible.
  • Confirm whether the shorter notice affects your final settlement or experience letter.

Generate yours — pre-filled for this situation

Notice period, reason and tone are set to match the example above. Change anything; the last working day recalculates.

Questions about this letter

If your offer letter or probation terms say 15 days, yes. If they say 30 and you serve 15, the employer can deduct pay in lieu of the balance — check the clause first.
